The Leukaemia Lymphoma Research foundation is a charity very close to the Nella brother’s hearts. Their father passed away from Leukaemia when they were only 18 and 21 leaving them to run the family business. Each year Mark and Emilio Nella hold a Charity Golf Day at a prestigious golf course near our base in south east London.
2016
Returning to the east course at Sundridge Park Golf Club, the annual Golf Day not only welcomed attendees new and old, but also the stunning October weather! Setting out for the day, 51 players worked their way round the course vying for the esteemed Franco Nella Memorial Trophy. A day of tremendous competitive play resulted in the winners’ trophy being passed over to Bert Nichols after finishing on 45 points, playing off 18.
The afternoon was rounded off with a fabulous dinner, followed by the annual auction. A fantastic £6240.00 was raised and presented to Leukaemia Lymphoma Research Foundation along with the incredible £23,228 achieved by Mark, Mario & Stefano on their London to Italy bike ride earlier in the year.
A huge thank you to all those involved in this year’s fund raising, especially to our sponsors who’s generosity helped make the day a success; Sundridge Park Gold Club, Tamasha Indian Restaurant, Ciprianni’s Restaurant, Jasmine’s Indian Restaurant, Lugana Italian Restaurant, Mutual Wealth, Mr Martin Canty and Mr Steve Small.
2015
2015 saw the Nella Charity Golf Day return to Sundridge Park Golf Club for the special 30 year anniversary event. Over 50 attendees headed out onto the beautiful course with high hopes of claiming the prestigious Franco Nella Memorial Trophy. All involved had a very enjoyable day, with Charlie Howard finishing first; his second consecutive triumph of the annual event.
The afternoon’s hospitality continued with a wonderful meal, leading onto the evening’s auction. We had some fantastic items which had been very generously donated and helped us to raise a spectacular £18,030; the largest amount to date!

2014
This year’s charity golf day we travelled down to the splendid and challenging Westerham Golf Club in Surrey. The weather was perfect as all 64 attendees arrived for some tasty bacon sandwiches and drinks before an expertly arranged tee-off from both the 1st and the 10th tee around mid-day.
The eventual and deserving winner of the day was Charlie Howard with a superb round earning him a place on the Franco Nella Memorial Trophy and some great prizes.
Guests and friends of the company again donated very generously for the Auction led by Mark and Emilio which brought this year’s total charity donation to £12,100.

2013
Back at the beautiful Sundridge Park golf course for our 2013 Charity golf day and all went to plan once again! Everyone that attended couldn't have been more complimentary of the course, excellent food and the exemplary service from the staff.
2013 did bring about some surprises though; for the first time for many years it wasn't a Nella taking home the winners trophy. A brilliant round took Joe Richardson to 41 points which won him the round and a place on the Franco Nella Memorial Trophy.
With the generously donated auction Items, the day raised £5,765 which the Nella brothers again doubled for a fantastic Charity donation of £11,530!
All at Nella would again like to thank everyone that came and donated to our 2013 campaign we had another great year and hope we can continue this success to 2014!
2012
The Course and the Weather shone brightly again for the Nella Golf day in September 2012 with a great turnout, there was some more skills on show than ever before but none more so than Emilio Nella who took the trophy home once again!
The Sundridge park staff were amazing hosts and put on a fantastic Carvery. With the generously donated auction Items the day raised £6654 which the Nella brothers again doubled for a fantastic Charity donation of £13,309!
All at Nella would again like to thank everyone that came and donated to our 2012 campaign we had another great year and hope we can continue this success to 2013!
2011
The course was in excellent condition and was complimented with a lovely day’s weather. There was some excellent golf on show not least by the tournament winner and holder of the ‘Franco Nella Memorial Trophy’, Emilio Nella.
The golf was followed by a meal and further chances to donate to Leukaemia Research with competitions and an Auction with some very generously donated items.
The event was a spectacular success and we’d like to thank everyone that came and donated so generously to an amazing cause. We are very proud to announce that with only 32 attendees the event raised over £6340, helped by the extraordinary generosity of the Nella Brothers doubling all donations made on the day. We look forward to next year when we hope to better this amazing total!
